Hello hello! Happy new year everyone! When can you officially stop saying that? I feel like 12 days is the cut off, so i’m swinging for it. Hope you all had an amazing x-mas and new years! I certainly did, with a nice little tan topping trip to St Lucia which was just what the doctor ordered after such a mega year, but more on that later.
Wow, so four years! Four years I’ve been doing this little gig. Honestly I never thought I’d stick to it this long yet somehow it still feels like i’m just starting out. I’m about to dive straight into the usual yearly round up blog waffle, so buckle up!
I shot 40 incredible weddings this year and I do mean incredible! From kicking the year off with a super stylish winter wedding in Hereford, to an outrageous at home glass marquee wedding in Hertfordshire, and so many more amazing days in-between, it really made collating this blog one of the toughest yet!
And travel! Travel was back with a vengeance last year. Zero swabs up the nose and zero pointless forms to fill out. I was happy to be hitting the tarmac 14 times in 2022 (yeah I basically lived in the lounges!) including trips to some new spots like: Puerto Rico, New York, Portugal and Spain, as-well as some different parts of Italy, loved visiting Puglia twice last year!
Gonna take a little moment here to big up myself if no one minds! 2022 I was lucky enough to be included in Elle Magazine’s Top 24 UK Wedding Photographers list and the coveted Photo Professional Magazine's Top 50 UK Wedding Photographers. Just waiting for GQ to call for the sexiest man of the year title and i’ll have the trifecta! Seriously though, I couldn’t believe it. When starting out, I’d look at lists like these and never dreamed my name would be on them, so thank you to whoever is in charge of putting those together!
Lists, awards and sexiest man titles aside, none of this would happen without all you lovely couples out there that took a chance on this twenty something boy from Bucks! So thank you all so much! Also thanks to all fellow suppliers, second shooters and planners from this year, big up yourselves too!
