“So glad we found you!! These are just AMAZING. All our guests commented on how fantastic you were and asked where I found you!! Thinking of what I can get you to photograph next!!”

Welllll it’s been a pretty interesting week here at Harry Michael Photography HQ! I dunno if you’ve seen or not, but I’ve just recently been announced as the TWIA’s South Central Wedding Photographer of the year! (Deep breath) I couldn’t be more shocked really! I haven’t won anything since a sack race in yr3! I reckon this deserves it’s own blog post next week, but I just wanna say quickly thank you to all my couples who voted!

Right, anyone else sick of the grim scenery out there! How about a little Tuscan sunshine? Can I just say, I friggin’ love Italy!! Is there anyone who doesn’t? The food is up there with my favourite cuisines, the wine (well I’m not much of a drinker, but I appreciate a damn good red!) and the scenery! I’ve never been more blown away by views than the drive through Poppi to reach Borgo Corsignano! My little Fiat 500 rental may have struggled up those hills (I haven’t driven a Manuel in ages okay!!) Not to mention Borgo Corsignano itself. It’s the kind of place you think about when your friends say stuff like wedding goals!! I was also fortunate enough to stay on site with some of their guests, 3 guys named Ben in particular!! It wasn’t long ‘till we had a sigil drafted up and House Ben was born.

Anywho, enough about wine, Italy and Bens, let’s touch on Lucy and Sean for a few sentences. I’d known Lucy and Sean for about oh…. 3 weeks before the big day! That’s right folks, I was a last minute stand in due to their photographer dropping out (for good reasons!) Obviously this isn’t the kind of news you want to hear 3 weeks before your wedding, but lucky for Lucy and Sean they know Sarah! Sarah was a guest at at Emmy and Dai’s wedding just a few weeks before, so again, you’ll see cute baby Yuki! Thanks again Sarah!

During those 3 weeks we had nuemerous Skype chats and back n’ forth texts. It was like we’d known each-other for years and I couldn’t be happier or more grateful that they let me join in their Italian Wedding extravaganza! The week leading up to the wedding I was greeted to loads of pictures from Lucy of the stunning scenery and the orangiest of sunsets over the Tuscan hills, my excitement levels at this point were off the charts!!! But the weather gods are fickle bas*ards and slowly over the week rain and thunder were in the pics Lucy was sending to me! Again, these aren’t the qualities you book a wedding in Italy for, but Lucy and Sean could not of been cooler and have a better attitude towards the impending storm on the big day! Really a lesson to all you future brides out there! WEATHER DOESN’T MATTER!!! Take it from Lucy! However, it all worked out well in the end! The dinner moved to a gorgeous indoor festoon lit room, and the torrential rain held off until everyone was seated for dinner, I even managed to get some of that orange sunset action!

So here’s Lucy and Sean in 3 days worth of Borgo Corsignano wedding photography action!

Also, 5th frame down is a warning to all of you! When you get carried away with poolside football, you just might get a Yorkshiremans elbow to the nose! Sorry Ben, I know I said I didn’t photograph it!! #HouseBenForLife
